More than 33 MILLION people WORLDWIDE are living with HIV. More than 20 MILLION LIVES have been lost due to HIV/AIDS related illness.
HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD) is May 18th 2012.
May 18th is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD). This annual observance is a day to recognize and thank the thousands of volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists who are working together to find a safe and effective HIV vaccine. It is also a day to educate our communities about the importance of preventive HIV vaccine research.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
- Let others know you are supportive of HIV vaccine research
- Learn the facts about HIV vaccine research
- Talk to friends and family about the need for an HIV vaccine and the importance of trial participation by people of all races and ethnicities, sexes, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Post and promote the attached messaging and content to your homepage, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
