SUPERSTARS CD 2009
2009 was a great year for Hearts & Voices, and once again we
were lucky enough to have performances by a fantastic lineup of artists. For the
fourth year running, we have put together a free CD for our audiences featuring
18 of our favorite Hearts & Voices artists. For many of our audience
members, Hearts & Voices is a big part of their lives, and these annual
compilations offer them the chance to keep that connection alive in between
shows.
All the featured artists donated their tracks to the CD, and the
result is a genre-hopping mash-up of driving dance, R&B, jazz standards,
singer/songwriter, and more. Here it is, track by track…
amberRose Marie – ‘I Wanna Be a DJ’ amberRose
Marie along with her management at Katz Entertainment have entertaining
Hearts & Voices audiences for years now. She always puts on an energy filled
show. We're excited that she is sharing her most
recent track that spent 2 weeks at #14 on the Billboard Charts!

Tha Heights – ‘Sin Ti’ Tha Heights are talented
young men who win the hearts of our audiences at every facility they perform at.
This song was one they used to become the 2009 New York City Champions of Burger

Jami Jackson– ‘Keep Walkin' On’ Jami has been a
consistant contributor to Hearts & Voices for over 2 years now. We are
honored to be able to share this song which was inpsired by her participation in

Jesse O– ‘Ooh U’ Jesse has been participating for over
a year and always puts on a great show. Not only is Jesse a talented singer
song/writer, but he's an exceptional dancer as well. ‘Ooh U’, which is off

Nisha Asnani– ‘Waiting Room’ Nisha has been
participating with Hearts & Voices since Spring of 2008 when she came on as
the Summer Intern. She has continued to grow and develop her own sound, which is
displayed beatiful in this track. We look forward to great things from this

Grace Garland – ‘Maybe’ Grace is a sultry, passion
filled performer with a strong message behind her music. Not only does Grace
sing in Hearts & Voices shows regularly, she spreads the message of safer
sex and protection everywhere she goes. Signed to Shark Meat Records, Grace

BlackSteelz – ‘All My Life’ BlackSteelz, is new to
Hearts & Voices in 2009. They hit the ground running, making it a point to
perform at all of our regular facilities! They are a Hip-Hop collaboration

Todd
Alsup – ‘How I'm Made’ Todd is another new comer to Hearts & Voices
in 2009. He won over our crowds with his Motown inspired melodies. His
music and lyrics come straight from the heart and speak to the every day

Dan Ferrari – ‘I Dream In Color’ Dan has been
performing with Hearts & Voices for over 2 years and is a regular
contributor to our New Jersey facilities. Dan’s music has been featured in the
independent film "Play the Game" and been played on MTV Cribs and New York’s
Q104.3 FM. Our audiences love to often be the first to hear songs he is working

Markeisha Ensley– ‘Take It All’ Markeisha’s
soulful voice and music encompass the full spectrum, from love and spirituality
to joy and pain. Markeisha is a seasoned Hearts & Voices performer, of 3+
years, who continues to share her talents and inpsire the hearts and minds of

Nhojj – ‘Love’ Nhojj's style has been described
by Windy City Times as "Acoustic Soul Music with a Message." How ever you care
to describe Nhojj's music I can't really do it justice. Nhojj is another
seasoned performer that we are proud to be able to share with our audiences.

Katy Pfaffl – ‘This Holy Night’ This songstress is
known for dazzling audiences with her engaging and endearing performances, where
she switches back and forth between piano, guitar and violin. Katy is a talented
and constantly evolving perform that has long shared her gifts with the Hearts

Andy Mac– ‘The Right Place’ Andy writes pop songs for
people who don't think they like pop music. Although the hooks and harmonies are
pleasurably addictive, the lyrical focus skews darker, speaking to an earnest

Michael Doane – ‘I Think About You’ Michael is a
theatre vet having performed in various regional theatres, national and European
tours, and productions on and off Broadway. In addition he has written and
recorded original music for many artists. Mr. Doane joined Hearts & Voices
in early 2009 and puts on shows that have at least 1 or 2 audience members up at

Sonia Montez – ‘No Regrets’ Sonia's been
performing with us for years as well. Her songs echo her adoration of
humanity and myriad of experience. Influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Simon,
and Mercedes Sosa to name a few, her knack for phrasing and harmonization is
captivating. At every Hearts & Voices show Sonia transports
the audience to another dimension with her thoughtful and passionate

Larry May– ‘Jaywalker’ Larry has been a regular
contributor to Hearts & Voices for more years than I can count. His toe
tapping, catchy orginals are enjoyed and sung along to with the same ease as the
cover songs that grace his set. "Jaywalker" is a crowd favorite that is often

Andrew Suvalsky– ‘Fool On A Hill’ Originally from
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrew moved to New York in 1998 and produced and starred
in his one-man show, ‘All I Want’. Andrew began performing with us late in 2008
and has been a constant fixture at our shows ever since. He has an easy

Ben Godwin – ‘Family Sandwich’ Ben assisted and then
managed Hearts & Voices in 2007 and early 2008. Ben left us to move back
London with his wife to start a family. In October of 2008 their daughter
Calliope was born and this song is about their little "bundle of joy".www.bengodwin.com
